About:	smack dog food is a brand new garden mulch product which contains theobromine. The mulch product supposedly retards cats from entering your garden and dogs are said to not eat it. It's been discovered dogs are dying from this mulch. The poster suggested that death can occur within a couple of hours or about 5 hours after ingestion. I guess it depends on how much the dog consumed.
